Some of the mods comes with “Battle.swf” file (Located inside “gui/flash” folder).
If you have a mod conflict (Windows asks you to overwrite files), you have to decide which of the mods you want to use. If you would do this the otherway around (Moving the mod files first, and afterwards moving the original fiels there), you would just have the original sounds. Also make sure that you copy the original game sounds first to “C:\Games\World Of Tanks\res_mods\audio” as I explained in points #5 and #6 and afterwards overwrite them with mod files.
If you would install the sound mod straight away, without moving the original game sound files first to the mods folder, you would only hear the engine sounds. Click yes on both.Įverything should be working now, and you have your brand new sounds. It will also ask if you want to overwrite some files. Windows will ask if you want to merge the folders.
You should see that theres two folders with the same names (“res” and “res_mods”). Move both of the folders into “C:\Games\World Of Tanks” (NOTE: You dont move them into “C:\Games\World Of Tanks\res_mods” now, because of the way the creater of the mod packaged his files). Now if you look inside Gnomefather’s package you’ll see “res” and “res_mods” folders.Copy all the files from there and move them into “C:\Games\World Of Tanks\res_mods\audio”.Before you move the Gnomefathers audio files into your “res_mods” folder, go to the following folder: “C:\Games\World Of Tanks\res\audio”.Extract it on to your desktop (You can extract it anywhere you want, but I tend to use desktop, because I find it’s easier to work with the mod from there). The guide for sound mods (It’s almost the same as above, just with a few twists) Sound mods are also installed the same way, but if you want to hear all the voices ingame, they require a little trick. Some mods are installed straight into “res” folder (For example compressed textures, some sound mods also also need the script file to be put there). Usually all mods are installed this way, unless noted otherwise. Previews of the sights can be found in the forum thread. In this case the installation notes for these alternative arty sights is included in the “Readme” file I told you to ignore earlier.
Usually if the creator of the mod does this, he will include previews and notes about how to install them with the mod. Jimbo has included alternative arty crosshairs in his mod, so the user can choose what kind of arty sight he wants.
Your mod should now be installed successfully. You should see that theres a folder with the same name inside (0.8.1).
